Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, enthroned in episcopal vestments consisting of an elaborate cope and mitre, holding a crozier in his left hand and a salt barrel — his traditional attribute — in his right. A nimbus surrounds his head, and the throne is depicted with ornamental detail. The surrounding circular legend in Latin reads S RVDBERTVS EPVS SALZBVRGEN, identifying the saint. The inner border is a rope-pattern circle with an outer beaded rim.
