| Obverse description | Central device comprising a six-part ornate oval shield bearing the quartered arms of Salzburg impaled with those of the Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, all within a beaded circle. The shield is elaborately mantled in Renaissance style. A circular Latin legend commencing at 12 o'clock reads: WOLF TEOD D G AR EPS SAL AP SE LE, an abbreviation of Wolfgangus Theodoricus Dei Gratia Archiepiscopus Salisburgensis Apostolicae Sedis Legatus. |

| Reverse description | Full-length frontal effigy of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, depicted facing the viewer, holding a salt box in one hand and a crozier in the other, all within a beaded circle. The Archbishop's mitre surmounting the figure divides the circular Latin legend at the top of the field. The reverse lettering reads: SANCTVS RVDBERTVS EPS SALZBVRGE, identifying the saint as Bishop of Salzburg. The composition reflects the devotional iconographic tradition common to Salzburg ecclesiastical coinage of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. |
