Obverse description The Annunciation scene depicted within a beaded inner circle: the Angel Gabriel approaches from the left with wings spread and one hand raised in salutation, while the Virgin Mary is seated to the right with hands open in a gesture of acceptance. A dove descending from above represents the Holy Spirit, and a flowering plant in a vase occupies the foreground between the two figures. The surrounding legend in Latin reads AVE MARIA GRATIA PLENA DOMINVS TECUM, rendered in an archaic Gothic-influenced style typical of early seventeenth-century German coinage.
