| Reverse description | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, bearing a central shield on the breast charged with the dynastic arms of the House of Habsburg. The design is contained within an inner circle, with the legend circumscribing it and the two-digit date '82' appearing at the end of the inscription. The Budějovice mint mark is positioned at 6 o'clock. The overall composition is characteristic of Bohemian quarter-thaler coinage of the late sixteenth century. |

| Additional information |
Rudolph II relocated the imperial court from Vienna to Prague in 1583, making this 1582 issue one of the last struck before Bohemia became the effective center of the Habsburg empire. The Budweis mint — present-day České Budějovice — operated intermittently under royal privilege, and its output from this decade is considerably scarcer than comparable Prague or Kuttenberg pieces.
