| Obverse description | Full-length crowned figure of Maximilian III, Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, standing facing in armour beneath a mantle, holding a sword point-down in his right hand and a sceptre in his left. To the left stands a crested helm surmounting a heraldic shield, and to the right a lion sejant supports a second quartered shield. The circular Latin legend is separated from the inner field by a wreath border, with the inscription running continuously around the periphery. |

| Reverse description | An armoured knight on horseback rides to the right, holding an upright lance or standard, depicted in full military equipage with a plumed helm. Surrounding the entire central composition is a border of fourteen heraldic shields of the Order's provincial bailiwicks and estates, arranged in a continuous ring within the milled rim. |
