Obverse description Square klippe flan with a rope-bordered inner circle containing the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg: the upper half displaying the Salzburg episcopal cross and the lower half bearing a rampant lion passant. The shield is surmounted by an archiepiscopal hat with tassels and flanked by two rampant lions as supporters. The circular Latin legend runs around the inner border within the klippe corners.
