Obverse description Eight-line funerary inscription in Latin capital letters filling the field, commemorating Countess Luise Juliane of Sayn, born of the house of Erbach in 1604 and deceased in 1670. The legend reads IN MEMORIAM DNÆ LOŸSÆ IVL COMITISS SAIN DE STEMM ERBAC NAT 1604 DEFVNCTÆ Ao 1670, arranged across the full face of the coin without a border legend. Two small rosette or star ornaments flank the opening word IN at the top of the field. A suspension hole is pierced at the top, indicating the piece was worn or mounted as a memorial keepsake. The milled edge and plain border frame the inscribed field.
