Obverse description Armoured half-length effigy of Archduke Leopold V facing right, wearing a plumed helmet and elaborately engraved cuirass with gorget, his right hand resting on a sword hilt. The figure is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the armour. A circular Latin legend runs along the inner border, separated from the effigy by a beaded inner rim.

Reverse description Crowned complex heraldic shield of Austrian and associated territories displayed on a flat-topped cartouche, featuring quartered arms with the Habsburg eagle and lion among other charges. The shield is surmounted by an imperial crown with elaborate scroll work. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design, separated from the border by a beaded inner rim.
