| Obverse description | Three heraldic shields arranged in a triangular grouping occupy the central field, with the arms of Archbishop Johann Jakob Khuen von Belasi displayed prominently below, all within a beaded inner circle. The date is divided by the Salzburg arms above the shield arrangement. A continuous Latin legend surrounding the design reads, commencing at 12 o'clock, the abbreviated titulature of the archbishop as Apostolic Legate and Archbishop of Salzburg. |

| Reverse description | St. Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, is depicted enthroned and facing forward, holding his distinctive attribute of a salt box in one hand and a crozier in the other, all contained within a beaded circle. The saint's head bisects the encircling Latin legend at the top of the design. The composition is rendered in the static, hieratic style characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century Austrian ecclesiastical coinage. |
