Reverse description Central field features the leaping white horse of Hanover to the left, rendered as a bold relief figure within a plain inner circle. Below the horse, flanking a centrally placed oval cartouche bearing the denomination fraction 1/4, is the date 1691 divided on either side. The surrounding legend QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT encircles the design, the dynastic motto meaning 'Where Fate and Glory Lead', separated by small mullet stops. The composition is characteristic of the Celle Mint's output under Duke George William.
