Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Frederick Charles facing right, with long flowing wig and armored shoulder pauldron visible beneath lace cravat. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the late Baroque style, with fine detail in the periwig curls. The Latin legend curves around the periphery, with a mintmaster's mark (M) visible in the lower field beneath the truncation.

Reverse description Quartered crowned shield of arms enclosed within a wreath of laurel branches tied at the base. The shield displays the four traditional quarters of the Württemberg arms: three antlers in the first and fourth quarters, and two crossed antlers with a stag in the second and third quarters. The date 1681 is divided by the wreath, with '16' to the left and '81' to the right near the top of the design, with the letters D, P, F, H appearing in the legend arc above.
