Reverse description St. Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, is depicted enthroned and seated to the left, holding his characteristic attributes: a saltbox (salt cellar) in one hand and a crozier in the other, emblematic of his role as bishop and the salt trade central to Salzburg's prosperity. In the lower right portion of the field, the arms of Salzburg appear alongside the denomination value displayed within a decorative frame. The date of issue is incorporated into the legend, which runs along the periphery of the coin in Latin capitals.
