| Obverse description | Armored and crowned bust of Ferdinand I facing right, dividing the date 1548 across the field, the king holding a scepter in his right hand. The effigy is rendered in the mannered style characteristic of mid-16th century Central European hammered coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the abbreviated royal legend disposed around the periphery.
