| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborate quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Mainz, displayed on an ornate baroque cartouche and surmounted by a cardinal's hat with tassels flanked by a processional cross and the heraldic supporters. The escutcheon incorporates the characteristic Mainz wheel motif, a serpent, keys, and floral quarterings. The shield is flanked by draped mantling, with the pontifical cross and mitre visible above.
