Obverse description Central field occupied by a large quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of Diana of Dommartin, Princess of the Holy Roman Empire and Marquess of Havré, surmounted by an elaborate mantle and coronet. The quarters display barry horizontal stripes and various heraldic charges including a castle, a lion, and a cross with crescent, rendered in the hammered relief style typical of early seventeenth-century Lorraine coinage. The shield is flanked by decorative supporters and enclosed within a beaded inner border. The circumferential legend in Roman capitals reads: ✠ DIANA. PRINC : S : IMP : MARCH DE HAVRE, identifying the issuing authority.
