Obverse description Central field occupied by a large crowned ornate heraldic shield bearing the composite coat of arms of the County of Schwarzburg and Hohenstein, with elaborate baroque ornamentation. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, around which the Latin commemorative legend is disposed in the outer ring. The engraving style is characteristic of mid-17th century German die-cutting, with fine detail in the crown and quartered armorial bearings.
