Reverse description A large plain cross with splayed arms dominates the central field, its four quadrants adorned with symmetrical baroque foliate scroll ornaments. At the base of the cross, enclosed within a small cartouche, is the fractional denomination mark '1/4'. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, outside of which the Latin religious legend BENEDICIUS · SIT · IEHOVA · DEVS · 1680 runs around the full circumference, separated by rosette stops, with the date 1680 appearing at the top of the legend.
