Obverse description Central field displays a displayed imperial double-headed eagle with spread wings, rendered in the late medieval heraldic style characteristic of mid-16th century German coinage. The eagle occupies the full interior of the coin, with detailed feather engraving on the wings and body. A circular Latin legend surrounds the eagle, reading MONETA NOVA LVBICEN with the date 1549, separated by pellet stops. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border.
