| Reverse description | The reverse presents a largely plain, unworked tin surface with only faint traces of design elements visible, consistent with the crude hammered production method employed for this siege coinage. The squared flan with rounded corners shows extensive surface marks and flow lines inherent to the soft tin planchet. A very faint impression, possibly a vestigial shield or countermark, may be discerned in the center, though it is largely indistinct. The absence of a formal reverse design underscores the emergency nature of this issue, struck by the besieged city of Woerden during the turbulent period of the Dutch Revolt in 1576. |
