Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right-facing profile, wearing a Corinthian helmet with raised cheek-guards and a prominent crest adorned with a coiled serpent rendered in high relief. Loose curling locks of hair escape beneath the helmet along the neck and cheek, rendered in granular beaded style characteristic of late 4th-century Macedonian die work. The facial features are finely modelled with a strong brow, almond-shaped eye, and well-defined nose and chin. The field is plain, with no legend, the design filling the flan to the edge.
