| Obverse description | Armored knight on horseback advancing to the right, sword raised in the right hand, depicted in the late medieval style characteristic of Guelders coinage. The horse is shown in full gallop, its forelegs raised, rendering the type commonly known as the 'Peerdeke' (little horse). The equestrian figure is surrounded by a beaded inner circle, with the circular Latin legend running along the outer periphery of the coin. The overall design is bold and deeply struck, though somewhat irregular in shape as typical of hammered coinage of the period. |
