| Reverse description | A stacked four-line Latin votive legend occupying the entire reverse field, enclosed within a beaded or twisted wreath border. The inscription names Athalaric as king, presented in a format closely imitating contemporary Byzantine and Ostrogothic silver coinage. The wreath, rendered in stylized relief, frames the legend symmetrically and serves as the sole decorative element. The die work is somewhat crude, consistent with the provincial hammered silver coinage of the Gepidic realm. No exergue line or mint mark is present. |
