Reverse description A frontally facing Lion of St. Mark, displayed in heraldic fashion, is set within a large ornate shield adorned with elaborate scrollwork and decorative flourishes. The shield is centrally positioned within the coin's field, occupying most of the design space. The numeral 35 appears in the exergue below the shield, flanked by small star ornaments, denoting the coin's value in soldi. The surrounding legend SANCT·MARC·VENE· identifies the patron saint of Venice, and the design is enclosed within a beaded border.
