Reverse description The reverse displays a three-line Persian legend in Nastaliq script reading 'Maharaja / Sardar Singh / Bahadur' above the regnal year '1955' in Eastern Arabic numerals, referring to the Vikrama Samvat year corresponding to 1898 CE. A horizontal dividing line separates the upper portion of the legend from the lower, a layout consistent with Jodhpur Mint coinage of the Victorian era. The field shows characteristic die flow lines and the bold relief typical of hand-engraved dies used at the Jodhpur Mint. The overall design affirms the dual authority of the British Crown and the local ruler.
