Reverse description The reverse displays bold Nagari script legends in high relief, occupying the majority of the coin's field and rendered in a compact, angular style typical of Gwalior State coinage of the late nineteenth century. The characters refer to Madho Rao, the ruling Scindia Maharaja of Gwalior under whose authority the coin was issued. A small cross-like or star ornament is visible to the left of the main inscription, serving as a decorative or mint mark element. The field around the legends shows a slightly granular surface texture consistent with the silver fabric of the period.
