Obverse description Central field displays the national emblem of Oman — two crossed khanjar daggers overlaid with a belt and two crossed swords — rendered in fine relief. The Arabic legend 'سلطنة عمان' (Sultanate of Oman) appears in the upper right field, with 'قابوس بن سعيد' (Qaboos bin Said) along the left. The Hijri date '١٣٩٧' (1397) is inscribed at the top, and the denomination '١/٤' (one quarter) appears at the bottom. The design is framed by a toothed border running around the full circumference.
