| Obverse description | Central field bears a bold hammered Arabic legend in naskh script reading 'al-izza lillah al-sultan Fath Ali' (Glory to God, Sultan Fath Ali), with the regnal name of Fath Ali Shah prominently rendered in large interlocking strokes filling the flan. The AH date 1214 appears along the lower rim. The inscription is deeply struck in raised relief against a plain, slightly convex field characteristic of early Qajar hammered coinage. The overall presentation is compact and densely calligraphic, with no pictorial motifs. |
