| Obverse description | A pomegranate plant in full bloom occupies the central field, depicted with a detailed, textured fruit at the top showing characteristic seeded crown, flanked by naturalistic leafy branches extending to either side. The stem rises from the base of the coin with additional foliage and a small bud visible to the lower right. The date 1852 is inscribed in the lower exergue in large serif numerals. The design is enclosed within a plain inner field bordered by a toothed or milled rim. |

| Reverse description | The fractional denomination '1/4' is displayed prominently in the central field, flanked on each side by a caduceus — the winged staff entwined with serpents — serving as decorative and symbolic elements in place of the three stars found on earlier issues. The mint name 'BOGOTA' appears as a legend above or around the denomination. The design is enclosed within a milled border. |
