Additional information

This coin belongs to the transitional moment when Reza Khan, still commanding as Prime Minister, was consolidating power before deposing Ahmad Shah Qajar and declaring himself Shah in December 1925. The quarter qiran denomination had existed under the Qajars, and its continued minting in 1925 reflects the monetary continuity Reza Khan deliberately maintained while the political structure above it was being dismantled.

The .900 silver standard was inherited from late Qajar monetary reform — not a new specification of the Pahlavi regime.
