Obverse description Crowned royal effigy facing full front, depicted in a schematic, high-relief style characteristic of 13th-century Norwegian hammered coinage. The bust is enclosed within a raised solid inner ring, with a partial Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the flan. The crude but expressive die-work reflects the limited engraving technology of the period, with the crown rendered as a simple pointed form atop the head. The irregular flan edges and uneven strike are consistent with hand-cut planchets typical of medieval Norwegian fractional pennies.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description As a bracteate-technique coin, the reverse exhibits the incuse mirror image of the obverse design, showing the indented impression of the crowned bust and surrounding ring, with no independent reverse design or legend. The surface is characteristically rough and uneven, consistent with single-die hammered bracteate or near-bracteate production of medieval Scandinavia.
