Obverse description Thin silver bracteate of irregular, roughly polygonal flan struck from a single die. The central field features a bold letter S rendered in a serpentine, interlaced style, flanked by two pellets, one to each side of the letter. The design is enclosed within two concentric raised circles, creating an inner and outer border ring that frames the central motif. The overall style is characteristic of late 12th-century Norwegian hammered bracteate coinage, with the S likely serving as an initial or monetary symbol.
