| Reverse description | Central device consists of the crowned quartered arms of Spain enclosed within an ornate shield, displaying the castles of Castile and lions of León in the primary quarters, with the pomegranate of Granada at the base and the escutcheon of the House of Austria-Burgundy overall. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown. Flanking the shield on either side are small heraldic shields representing the provincial territories. The outer legend, in Latin capital letters, reads ARCHID AVST DVX BVRG LVXEM Zc, proclaiming Philip IV's titles as Archduke of Austria and Duke of Burgundy, Luxembourg, et cetera. The reverse exhibits the bold, if somewhat irregularly struck, heraldic composition characteristic of Luxembourg mint production of this period. |
