| Obverse description | Elephant walking left in the central field, rendered in a stylised indigenous manner with raised trunk and visible legs. The Mauludi regnal year in Arabic numerals appears above the elephant in the upper field, reading AM 1218 in non-retrograde form. The flan is irregular and the design occupies most of the coin's surface, consistent with hammered copper coinage of the Mysore sultanate under Tipu Sultan. |
