Obverse description Central field features a stylized elephant passant to the right, rendered in low relief in the characteristically bold hammered style of Mysore coinage under Tipu Sultan. A decorative sword or canopy device appears above the animal, consistent with royal Mysorean iconographic conventions. The design is contained within a plain inner circle, with the flan edges irregular as typical of hand-struck copper issues of this period. The surface exhibits natural cuprous patina with areas of verdigris consistent with age and circulation.
