Reverse description The reverse displays the full-length allegorical figure of Winged Victory (La Libertad), modelled after the gilded bronze statue atop the Independence Column in Mexico City, standing on a classical column with arms outstretched and wings spread. In the background, the snow-capped volcanic peaks of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl are rendered in relief. The denomination '1/4 ONZA' appears at the lower left, with 'ORO PURO' at the upper centre and the date, fineness 'LEY .999', and the Mexico City Mint mark 'Mo' arranged along the upper right periphery. The mint assayer's initial appears in the lower right field.
