| Additional information |
Karim Khan Zand never took the title of Shah, ruling instead as Vakil al-Ra'aya — regent of the people — a deliberate political stance that distinguished his reign from the Safavid and Afsharid rulers who preceded him. The Tabriz mint was among the more distant provincial operations under his control, and gold fractional issues from that facility are considerably scarcer than those from the central Fars mints at Shiraz.
The Type D classification within this series reflects a distinct die arrangement documented by Album, separating it from earlier emission types within the same reign period.
