| Obverse description | The entire field is occupied by a multi-line Persian religious legend in bold nasta'liq script, arranged in three horizontal registers across the flan. The inscription, invoking the Imam and the Lord of Time (Sahib al-Zaman), fills the field to its margins with characteristic Zand-period calligraphic fluency. Individual words are separated by decorative dot embellishments. The die is slightly uncentred, a feature typical of hammered Zand gold coinage, and the surfaces exhibit the characteristic granular texture of hand-struck flans. |
