Obverse description The field is entirely occupied by a multi-line Persian legend in bold Nasta'liq script, reading 'Sikka Nizam-ul-Mulk Bahadur Asaf Jah', with the Hijri regnal year 1279 inscribed at the lower portion of the field. The inscription is struck in high relief with characteristic irregularity of hammered coinage, the legends filling the flan to its edges. No border or decorative device is present, the entire design being devoted to the royal titulature of the Nizam of Hyderabad.
