Reverse description Three-line Nasta'liq legend occupying the central field, recording the royal inscription of Shah Tahmasp I, the mint name Kashan (کاشان), and the regnal or Hijri date 961 (corresponding to 1554 CE). The legend is arranged horizontally across the flan with the mint and date in the lower register, consistent with standard Safavid hammered gold coinage practice. The irregular flan edges and variable relief are characteristic of hand-struck issues from the Kashan mint.
