| Obverse description | A finely modelled lion passant facing left occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail to the mane and musculature. The animal stands upon a thin ground line, conveying a sense of deliberate, powerful movement. The legend SHQIPNI (Albania) arcs across the upper field in bold Latin capitals. The date 1927 appears in the lower field beneath the lion, with the Rome mint mark R directly below. The engravers' signatures G. ROMAGNOLI and A.
