Additional information

Nassau's quarter kreuzer issues of this period reflect the duchy's consolidation under Wilhelm I following the 1806 reorganization of German territories under Napoleonic pressure. The copper coinage of minor denominations was frequently struck to address chronic small-change shortages across the fragmented Rhenish states, and Nassau was no exception — local trade depended heavily on these lowest fractional values in ways that silver coinage simply could not serve.

The five-year production window across multiple catalogues suggests dies were reused across the run.
