Obverse description Full-length facing figure of Margrave Christopher I in elaborate full plate armor, standing within a lobed Gothic architectural frame. The figure holds a long flagstaff or lance in the right hand and supports a large heraldic shield of the Baden arms with the left. The armored effigy is rendered in fine late Gothic style with detailed articulation of the armor's surfaces. The surrounding legend runs in uncial characters within a beaded border.
