Obverse description Central device depicts a heraldic lion rampant, the armorial beast of Guelders, shown within an inner beaded circle. The lion is rendered in the Gothic hammered style characteristic of mid-14th century Low Countries coinage, with stylized mane and raised forepaws. The surrounding field is heavily worn, with the circumscribed Latin legend partially visible around the periphery. The flan is irregular in shape with ragged edges typical of hand-struck medieval silver coinage.
