Ahmad Shah II ruled the Bahmani Sultanate through a period of sustained military pressure from the Vijayanagara Empire to the south, and his reign saw repeated campaigns that drained the treasury and pushed copper fractional coinage into heavy everyday use. Small-denomination pieces like this quarter gani would have moved through bazaars and markets across the Deccan in enormous volumes, which is precisely why survivors in any meaningful condition are genuinely scarce.
