Obverse description Stylized sardula (mythical lion) depicted in profile facing right, rendered in the highly schematic and compact artistic convention characteristic of Hoysala coinage. The figure occupies the central field of this diminutive flan. A crescent symbol appears above the sardula, serving as a dynastic or devotional emblem. The design is boldly executed in relief despite the extremely small module, with the imagery reduced to essential iconographic elements. The irregular flan and worn surfaces are typical of hammered Hoysala quarter fanams.
