Obverse description Youthful effigy of Louis XIV facing right, depicted as a child-king with short hair, laureate head, the bust draped and cuirassed in the antique manner. The king wears the cordon of the Order of the Holy Spirit across his chest. The portrait, engraved by Jean Warin, reflects the monarch's appearance during his minority reign. The encircling Latin legend is interrupted by the bust at the base.
