| Obverse description | Juvenile draped and cuirassed effigy of Louis XV facing right, laureate, with long flowing hair rendered in fine detail. The portrait reflects the young king's age at the time of issue, executed in a refined Baroque style characteristic of early 18th-century French royal coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading LUD. XV. D. G. FR ET. NAV. REX, identifying the monarch as King of France and Navarre by the grace of God. The rim is decorated with a fine milled border. |
