Obverse description Central device consists of an ornate cross fleury with fleurs-de-lis at each terminal, centered on a rosette, all rendered in high relief characteristic of early Louis XIV coinage. The cross is of the type fleuronnée, with elaborate foliate flourishes extending from each arm. The circular Latin legend surrounds the entire field, incorporating the mint date. The coin displays the broad, somewhat irregular flan typical of hammered production under the regency period, with a milled border visible along the rim.
