Reverse description The reverse displays a quartered royal shield of arms surmounted by an open crown, the dexter chief and sinister base quarters bearing the fleurs-de-lis of France, the sinister chief quarter displaying the bezants (chains) of Navarre, and the dexter base quarter featuring the cows of Béarn. The denomination numeral II appears to the left and right of the shield in the field. The date 1614 is visible in the legend, which reads GRATIA DEI SVM ID Q SVM, a Biblical motto from 1 Corinthians 15:10, rendered in Latin capitals around the periphery.
