| Obverse description | Interlaced crowned script monogram comprising the conjoined initials CE and FJ, referring to co-rulers Christian Ernest and Francis Josias, displayed in the center of the field. The date 1743 is divided by the crown at the top, while the denomination mark 1/4 D. appears in the lower portion of the field beneath the monogram. The design is rendered in a refined baroque calligraphic style typical of small German state gold coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
